The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Position summary

Under the supervision of the Technical Platforms Manager of the Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM), the health professional is responsible for administering exercise stress tests and safely supervising training sessions as part of clinical studies. This role contributes directly to innovative clinical health research projects.

Respiratory Therapist, Kinesiologist, Clinical Exercise Physiologist, Électrophysiologist

General Duties

  • Administers and monitors exercise stress tests on a cycle ergometer or treadmill in accordance with study protocols.
  • Measures and records gas exchange, ventilation, and other physiological parameters as required.
  • Ensures continuous monitoring of 12-lead electrocardiogram, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  • Supervises exercise training sessions while ensuring patient safety.
  • Ensures accurate completion of Case Report Forms and provides source document to researchers with source documentation as per Good Clinical Practice guidelines.
  • Conducts any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Possibility to learn how to perform other assessments such as lung function testing, body composition scans, functional evaluations, and many others.

Education / Experience

  • Good standing member of their professional order and/or association.

Required Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of oral and written French is required.
  • An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with patients, researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
