Minimum Requirements

  • You are in line with our values: safety first, being stronger together, operational discipline, curiosity, continuous learning and acting with integrity.

  • A Diploma of Vocational Studies (D.E.P.) in Plumbing & Heating would be an asset.

  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in the heavy industrial construction industry.

  • A good knowledge of lifting equipment, slinging and welding.

  • A good knowledge of industrial equipment (towers, furnaces and exchangers).

  • A good knowledge of controlled tightening methods by tension and twisting.

  • A strong sense of leadership, communication skills and teamwork.

  • Good work organization and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high stress levels during production stoppages.

  • Fluent in French (spoken and written) with a good command of English.

Responsibilities

  • Development of workforce plans adapted to the needs of the site.

  • Implementation of effective logistics plans to ensure the smooth running of the work.

  • Carrying out constructability reviews to anticipate technical challenges.

  • Organized meetings with suppliers to align expectations and timelines.

  • Active participation in the identification and implementation of new working methods.

  • Research and integration of new tools to improve the efficiency and quality of work execution.

  • Coordinate the work of the various contractors to ensure the proper execution of Shutdown work and/or construction projects, while respecting Suncor's corporate values and its methods and procedures.

  • Adopt a client approach, adjust to frequent changes and make quick decisions in order to meet the needs of the Operation.

  • Ensure excellent communication with people from other departments with whom you will have to work (Planning, Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, Prevention and Inspection).

  • Prepare, facilitate or participate in various meetings such as daily meetings for work handover for next shift team, monthly safety meetings or multidisciplinary meetings on construction projects.

  • Supervise maintenance employees during unit shutdowns.

Your work location, schedule, and other relevant information

  • You will work at our Montreal Refinery, located at 11701 Sherbrooke Street East.

  • Full-time, Monday - Friday (40 hours per week).

  • Be available for overtime during production downtime.

  • This position is critical for safety.

  • The position includes on-call periods, generally 1 to 2 weeks per year, according to a pre-established schedule.
