Production Coordinator
As the Production Coordinator you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end production process of garments with overseas factories. In this role you will be required to possess strong communication and follow-up skills, and a solid understanding of garment manufacturing. Reporting to the Director, Sourcing, you will ensure timelines, cost, and quality standards are met while proactively identifying and resolving potential production issues.
Some of What You’ll Do:
- Act as the primary point of contact with overseas factories, including but not limited to Bangladesh, Egypt, Vietnam, and Cambodia
- Maintain clear, consistent, and professional communication with vendors across different time zones
- Manage and monitor production using Time & Action (T&A) sheets and Work in Progress (WIP) reports
- Track all stages of production from order placement through shipment
- Proactively identify potential delays or risks and take corrective action to minimize impact
- Issue and manage vendor purchase orders in line with approved specifications and timelines
- Work closely with internal teams and vendors on costing, including price negotiations and cost breakdown reviews
- Monitor and ensure adherence to key milestones, including: Ex-factory dates, Export date, Arrival-at-destination dates
- Coordinate sampling, approvals, and bulk production follow-ups as required
- Ensure production aligns with quality standards and buyer requirements
- Maintain accurate production records and provide regular status updates to management
Some of What You’ll Need:
- Strong understanding of the garment manufacturing process, from raw materials to finished goods
- Proven experience in production follow-up and factory coordination
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in order to communicate effectively when working with overseas suppliers
- Experience in apparel sourcing, production, or supply chain coordination
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Ability to work proactively and independently to resolve production challenges
- Experience using T&A sheets, WIP reports, and production tracking tools
- Solid knowledge of garment costing principles and purchase order management
- Flexibility to work with international time zones, including early mornings or late evenings as needed
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
- Prior experience working with factories in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East a plus
- Familiarity with shipping terms, logistics timelines, and export documentation an asset
