Profile
The successful candidate reporting to the CFO, will be responsible for assuming a critical leadership role in managing and implementing technology strategies, solutions and projects within a manufacturing organization. This role oversees the strategic direction of technology in a manufacturing environment, ensuring efficiency, quality and compliance. The director would manage budgets and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the overall manufacturing objectives and business goals.
- Identify emerging technologies and opportunities relevant to the manufacturing industry.
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend technology solutions that address key business needs and challenges.
Technology Operations
- Oversee the implementation and management of technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networks.
- Manage the organization’s IT resources, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, best practices, industry guidelines, and company policies related to technology and data security.
Project Management
- Lead and manage technology projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Monitor project progress and identify and address any issues or risks.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on leveraging technology to enhance manufacturing processes, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Foster a culture of innovation within the organization, encouraging the adoption of new technologies and processes.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of technology solutions and identify areas for improvement.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals, ensuring their skills and expertise are aligned with the organization’s technology needs.
- Provide guidance and support to manufacturing staff on the use of technology tools and processes.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment within the technology team.
Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with other departments, including R&D, engineering, and production, to ensure technology solutions are aligned with business needs.
- Communicate technology strategy and project updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Serve as a liaison between the technology team and external vendors and partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IT management, with a significant portion focused on manufacturing or a related industry.
- Experience leading and managing technology teams, including project management and budget attainment.
- Strong understanding of technology solutions and applications within the manufacturing industry, including ERP systems, Power Bi dashboards, and financial reporting systems.
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, and visualization tools.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of cloud computing technologies and platforms.
- Experience with automation and robotics in manufacturing.
- Experience with cybersecurity and data privacy in the manufacturing industry.
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
