We are a well-funded startup building a unique social media company based on user-generated content. We are seeking a Lead Engineer & Project Manager to architect our technology foundation and lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and designers from build to scale.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can both design and execute. You will own the end-to-end technical architecture, set engineering standards, and drive delivery across product, infrastructure, and design.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and own the full IT and platform architecture (frontend, backend, infrastructure, security, scalability)
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers and designers
• Translate product vision into technical roadmaps and execution plans
• Oversee project management: timelines, milestones, resources, and delivery
• Make build vs. buy decisions and select vendors, tools, and frameworks
• Ensure reliability, performance, data integrity, and security best practices
• Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership on strategic technology decisions
• Establish development processes, documentation, and deployment workflows

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in a senior engineering, technical lead, or engineering management role
• Proven experience designing and scaling modern web platforms
• Strong background in cloud infrastructure, APIs, databases, and modern frameworks
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and ship complex products on schedule
• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment
• Excellent communication and execution skills
