Role Overview

In this role, you will create independent research on directed and non-directed topics to support the Chief Strategist.

Key Responsibilities

• 4 Special Reports (thematic research and asset allocation).
• Write three sections in the Global Asset Allocation TAA quarterly report.
• Answer client requests and assist on access projects.
• General support and research for the team.

Skillset

• Whole pipeline research: successful candidates will be able to develop special reports from the ground up - from idea generation to research process, to chart making, to report structuring. Guidance will be given but successful candidates will eventually undertake these research projects independently. After training, successful candidates will eventually present to clients.
• Ability and willingness to go deep into a topic. Ability to connect the dots. Ability to go beyond macro and dig down on investment implications.
• Team player. Willingness to step up if something needs to be done, deliver on deadlines, and collaborate with others.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience in a leading investment bank, investment management firm, or research firm.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience conducting and writing economic research.
• Superior idea generation and research capabilities.
• Superior knowledge of capital markets (equities preferred but knowledge of bonds and alternatives a plus as well).
• Thematic research. Ability to identify underreported trends in industry, the economy, and society and how to profit from them in markets.
• MacroBond is a must. Must either be proficient or aim to be proficient very soon.
• Python is an asset.
• CFA Designation is an asset.
