Overview

Lead, Standards and Onboard products role at Air Transat. Reporting to the Manager, In-flight Product, the role acts as a field operational point of contact to ensure a harmonized, coherent, and compliant deployment of onboard products across the entire network. The incumbent is responsible for the technical documentation of products, maintenance of quality standards, and supporting international operations, particularly when opening new kitchens abroad. This position directly contributes to the customer experience and crew satisfaction by ensuring the consistency and quality of onboard offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain a comprehensive specification bible for all onboard products, including detailed technical sheets, product pictures, internal codes, formats, weights, and allergen and ingredient information.
  • Cover all service classes: Economy, Club, and Crew.
  • Ensure data consistency for all Canadian, European, and international stations.
  • Compile, structure, and deploy ingredient lists on crew members’ iPads; ensure regular updates and compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (product, quality, operations) to ensure alignment of deliverables; contribute to the development and monitoring of crew meals and meal cycles; ensure operational follow-up and documentation based on field feedback and operational needs.
  • Participate in tenders for the opening of new kitchens abroad; select products that meet quality standards and technical specifications; collaborate with local partners to ensure effective and compliant implementation.

Qualifications

  • College degree in product management, airline operations, logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a similar role, with significant exposure to multi-station, international, or regulated environments.
  • Proven experience in managing product standards, technical documentation, and large-scale operational deployment.
  • Experience in cross-functional or strategic projects (e.g., opening of new bases, product transformation, continuous improvement).
  • Ability to write clear and structured documents; advanced proficiency in Excel, SharePoint, Power BI, and related collaboration tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of food standards, allergens, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
  • Operational leadership: ability to influence, mobilize, and coordinate without direct authority.
  • Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams (product, quality, operations, suppliers); strong analytical, synthesis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Autonomy, rigor, and the ability to prioritize in a constantly evolving environment; high adaptability in multicultural and multi-regional contexts.
  • Fluency in French and English; knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec; English communication with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders globally.
