Job Overview
Société Générale (SG) is a leading European bank with a global presence. The Internal Audit Group (IGAD) oversees audit activities worldwide. The SG Internal Audit Americas (SGIAA) team includes professionals based in New York, São Paulo, and Montreal. This role provides an opportunity to contribute as a valuable member of the Audit team and participate in a new phase of development with the expansion of internal audit presence in Montreal, including some supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all types of regional or global IT audit engagements, including specific IT functions or integrated audits conducted with business/financial auditors.
- Independently drive the audit process: develop diagnostic matrices, identify test cases, determine sampling strategies, deliver clear and concise debriefing presentations to IGAD management and audited entities.
- Inform IGAD leadership promptly about significant findings and events that may affect the organization.
- Document findings and draft audit reports that add value to the organization.
- Ensure rigorous follow-up of audit recommendations and action plans.
- Assist in the development of risk assessment, internal controls and other processes to identify risk or weakness zones, contributing to audit planning and strategy.
- Contribute to transformation projects (data analytics, digital transformation, etc.), actively participate in implementation, communicate changes, and support colleagues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, or a related business discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of IT systems experience, preferably in banking or finance.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices and technologies.
- Experience in one or more of the following domains: governance, projects, development and SDLC, production, security, risk management, business continuity, technical infrastructure.
- Good understanding of IT/IS processes: incident management, change management, version control, configuration management.
- Knowledge of IT security concepts, familiarity with vulnerability testing and security flaws.
- Experience with infrastructure components such as database management systems (e.g., DB2, SQL Server, Oracle), major IT platforms (Windows, UNIX), client/server architectures, web applications, and network components (firewalls, routers, switches, network access points).
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency with security assessment tools and methodologies (vulnerability scanners, penetration tests).
- Understanding of network, application, and data protection security.
- Knowledge of investment banking or financial services sector.
- Familiarity with security and control frameworks such as ISO 17799, COBIT, COSO, Common Criteria, FFIEC.
- Knowledge of regulations such as GLBA, California Privacy Bill, Volcker Rule, Dodd-Frank Act.
Language Requirements
English fluency, both oral and written, is required due to regular collaboration with colleagues and partners in the United States. Candidates must also be willing to undergo a thorough background check, including fingerprint collection, for compliance with U.S. federal securities law.

Compensation
Annual salary range: CA$120,000 – CA$140,000. Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
