Job Description – Control‑M Administration

This role supports all aspects of Control‑M administration and provides technical guidance to team members. You will manage escalated incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and address both reactive issues (incident reports) and proactive business needs. The contract is open (12 months +) and may lead to an extension or internalisation. Calendar follows the US calendar and the role is located in Montréal, with a hybrid model—up to two days WFH per week after three months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, implement and support complex Control‑M batch streams.
  • Support modernization efforts using Control‑M integrations and Automation API.
  • Understand business requirements and design appropriate solutions.
  • Test and validate changes in the Control‑M environment.
  • Ensure high-quality release standards.
  • Manage incidents and, when needed, escalations to management or third parties.
  • Perform root-cause analysis on P1–P4 incidents.
  • Collaborate with internal teams or external partners for change implementations.
  • Adhere to incident, problem, and change-management procedures.
  • Ensure service performance meets established SLAs and quality expectations.

Candidate Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Computer Science / IT, or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • Minimum five years of relevant experience in Control‑M administration.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Control‑M architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with Control‑M v9.20 / v9.21, including installation, configuration and DR procedures.
  • Experience with multiple Control‑M releases and migrations.
  • Good understanding of Linux basics.
  • Expertise across Control‑M components: Control‑M Agent / AFT / Managed File Transfer, Windows 2016 / 2019 / 2022, UNIX – Linux (current releases), Control‑M Automation API, Agent parameters, Configuration Manager, Calendar creation & updates, Folder & job creation / updates, Job ordering, conditions, quantitative resources, AFT profile components & jobs, Control‑M security, Job loader, User daily concept, Forecast Server, Import / export between environments, Find and update commands on folders.
  • Experience working with BMC Level 4 support.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of ITIL (Incident, Problem & Change Management).
  • Experience with other file-transfer products (CFT, Connect Direct, MQ Series, Secure Transport) is an asset.
