We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Production Manager to lead our manufacturing production team. The role will initially involve active participation on the production floor, providing hands-on experience and direct engagement with operations, rather than a traditional desk-based position. The ideal candidate will be ready to roll up their sleeves, work closely with the production staff, and implement innovative changes to improve efficiency and quality.
Overview & Key Responsibilities
- Manage plant operations and profitability at the gross margin level, ensuring attainment of business objectives.
- Coordinate production goals, pursue efficiency improvements, and reduce costs.
- Oversee and manage plant employees while ensuring a safe and clean environment.
- Direct manufacturing and maintenance operations to maximize return on assets.
- Manage department heads to coordinate purchasing, production, and shipping schedules, inventory, staffing, and work procedures.
- Identify and implement plans to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
- Review and analyze profit and loss statements to assess financial performance and inform strategic decisions.
- Assure attainment of business objectives and production schedules while maintaining Cryopak product quality standards.
- Collaborate with employees to revamp processes and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.
- Coordinate and recommend procedures for facility and equipment maintenance or modification, including replacement and installation of new machines.
- Manage spending against budget and changes in production volume.
- Improve manpower and resource utilization within existing departments and processes.
- Hire, train, evaluate, and manage staff, and resolve personnel grievances.
- Coordinate and direct establishment of plant policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe manufacturing environment and ensure final product quality meets Cryopak standards.
- Perform assignments in accordance with established safety policies and procedures and display appropriate work ethics and follow work rules.
Qualifications
- B.S. Mechanical Engineering Degree or related field.
- Strong leadership skills focused on team development and change management.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, and warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety regulations, and manufacturing methods.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, and leadership techniques.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing technical plans, blueprints, and models.
- Experience working within a multi-ethnic production environment.
- Knowledgeable about quality standards and ISO protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and respectfully with coworkers.
- Strong multitasking, prioritization, time-management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
