IT Project Manager
Location : Montreal, Quebec
Work Model : Hybrid (23 days in the office)
Contract Duration : 12 months (with potential for permanent placement)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and deliver complex Information Systems (IS) initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end project planning, execution, governance, and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful delivery of business outcomes. This role requires strong project management experience, leadership, and a hands-on approach to risk mitigation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration in a global, multicultural environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Build
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Define project scope, deliverables, and work breakdown structures, ensuring alignment with business objectives and quality standards.
- Coordinate and prioritize project tasks, monitor timelines, and maintain project documentation and reports.
- Establish and manage project governance processes, including stage gates, financial plans, and risk management frameworks.
- Ensure efficient utilization of resources and adherence to agreed time, scope, and budget parameters.
Project Execution
- Oversee day-to-day project operations, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of project milestones.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while capturing and acting upon improvement opportunities.
- Manage project financials including cost control, forecasting, invoicing, and cash flow tracking.
- Ensure proper contract and claims management in collaboration with Procurement and Legal teams.
- Conduct project performance tracking, reporting, and communication to stakeholders.
- Lead project closeout activities, ensuring lessons learned are documented and shared across teams.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary contact and escalation point for all project stakeholders.
- Drive alignment and effective communication among diverse business, technical, and operational teams.
- Prepare and present project and budget approvals to multiple stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships, ensuring stakeholder satisfaction and buy-in throughout the project lifecycle.
Governance & IS Compliance
- Define and implement project governance structures (SteCo, OpCo, reference teams).
- Ensure compliance with IS standards, corporate policies, and internal control regulations.
- Maintain rigorous adherence to methodology, documentation, and reporting practices.
- Execute IS processes according to agreed RACI specifications.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and motivate cross-functional project teams, both internal and external.
- Assign clear roles and responsibilities, track performance, and provide ongoing feedback.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Strategy & Business Value
- Stay informed of organizational strategy changes that may impact project delivery.
- Ensure projects deliver measurable business value and align with strategic objectives.
- Monitor stakeholder satisfaction and drive continuous improvement in project outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: University degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; PMP certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience managing IT or IS projects (experience in real estate or infrastructure environments a plus).
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and financial control processes.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities and shifting demands.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with demonstrated stakeholder management experience.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); Spanish and French are assets.
- Willingness to travel as required by project needs.
