Communications Coordinator – Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Employment type : Full-time, Permanent, Hybrid. 3 weeks vacation at hire, 5 sick days, 3 personal days, full benefits, REER, emergency assistance, free tickets, discounts, on-site gym.

Location : Montreal (Quartier des Spectacles); hybrid remote work component.

Start date : As soon as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Write and edit fundraising, promotional, and solicitation messages for the philanthropy development team and produce relevant visuals.
  • Tailor content for target audiences and chosen distribution platforms.
  • Coordinate website updates with marketing, sales, and communications teams.
  • Create and manage a recurring donor newsletter and oversee its long-term coordination.
  • Work with external contractors (writers, translators, designers, photographers, videographers, etc.) as needed.
  • Analyze performance of digital posts and newsletters (Google Ads, Meta, display) and recommend optimization.
  • Support promotion and reporting of donation campaigns and charity initiatives to donors and partners.
  • Develop content for benefit events (Soirée JG, Gala annuel) and cause-marketing and fundraising activities.
  • Coordinate photography and videography logistics for events and ensure proper crediting.
  • Maintain an updated bank of approved written and visual content.
  • Support production of visibility reports for partners.
  • Assist at reception tables during performances and events and participate in set-up and tear-down.
  • Help welcome and coordinate volunteer teams during merchandise kiosks and benefit events.
  • Perform any other related duties requested by manager in the scope of the service.

Profile / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, management or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of philanthropy and sponsorships is a plus.
  • Fluent written and spoken French and English.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in both languages to address current and prospective donors.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Mailchimp, Canva, Photoshop, CRM, etc.
  • Availability for occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to view the big picture and handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter with initiative.
  • Attention to detail and rigor.
  • Creative spirit and curiosity.
