Senior Telecommunications Engineer Outside Plant FTTH Hybrid

CIMA is looking for a Senior Telecommunications Engineer to join our team specializing in active and passive network infrastructures (outdoor networks FTTH). You will play a strategic role in the planning, design, and coordination of telecommunications projects. As a technical reference and project manager, you will actively contribute to the evolution of digital infrastructures while ensuring the technical quality and performance of the solutions proposed. This position is for a professional with a solid understanding of telecommunications networks combined with proven experience in managing multidisciplinary projects, all within a structured collaborative framework. The work is carried out in hybrid mode with a flexible home office among our sites in Quebec.

Primary Responsibilities

• Ensure the technical design and production of plans and specifications for telecommunications projects mainly in infrastructure architecture and outdoor networks (fiber optics FTTH backbone).
• Supervise engineering deliverables in collaboration with in-house teams (engineers, technicians, draftsmen).
• Participate in drawing up tender documents and analyzing proposals.
• Contribute to strategic planning and project management: coordination of stakeholders, adherence to budgets and schedules.
• Write technical and analytical reports and participate in the development of innovative technological solutions.
• Coach and support technical resources in their professional development.
• Collaborate actively with customers, partners, and stakeholders to ensure smooth and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in telecommunications engineering.
• Experience in large-scale deployment projects an asset.
• In-depth knowledge of active networks such as telecommunications equipment and external telecommunications networks (fiber optics FTTH backbone).
• Proven experience in technical project management.
• Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
• Excellent communication skills in both French and English: bilingualism is an essential requirement for this position as it enables effective collaboration with our various stakeholders.
• Proficiency in design tools and specialized software (AutoCAD, GIS, etc.) - an asset.
• PMP certification - an asset.
