Bilingual Translation Proofreader – English to Canadian French
Bilingual French-English proofreading opportunity in the insurance industry. Work in a hybrid setup (Montréal or Toronto) ensuring high-quality French content aligned with corporate and regulatory standards. Ideal for detail-oriented professionals with translation and financial industry experience.
What is in it for you :
- Hourly salary of $25-30, based on experience.
- 6-month contract with the potential for permanent employment.
- Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
- Weekday schedule from 9 am to 5 pm.
- Hybrid work: in-office Tuesday to Thursday.
Responsibilities :
- Proofread and edit translated content from English to French, ensuring accuracy, grammar, and adherence to corporate messaging and style guides.
- Validate translated materials and make edits to ensure fluency and clarity.
- Maintain consistency in terminology, tone, and style across all content.
- Collaborate with content creators and marketing teams to ensure high-quality, culturally appropriate translations.
- Apply a strong understanding of French language nuances specific to Québec.
- Develop and maintain glossaries and style guides to support consistent translation standards.
- Review and align translated web content with SEO best practices.
- Support glossary creation in collaboration with the advanced analytics team.
What you will need to succeed :
- Bachelor’s degree in Language, Communications, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Bilingual in English and French to accurately proofread, edit, and ensure high-quality, culturally appropriate translations aligned with corporate and financial industry standards.
- Deep understanding of linguistic nuances and cultural context in Québec.
- Proven experience proofreading and editing French translations in a professional setting.
- Exceptional grammar and spelling skills in French.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Experience in the financial industry or wealth and asset management strongly preferred.
