About Teakie
Teakie is a modern brand studio where beauty meets strategy. We design, build, and scale businesses and brands that inspire, combining creativity with operational excellence. Our work spans client partnerships and our own portfolio of companies, where every detail matters.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Corporate Development Associate with a strong background in finance, accounting, or corporate strategy. With 3-5 years of experience in investment banking, the Big 4, or corporate finance, the ideal candidate will bring analytical rigor, financial expertise, and strategic insight that comes from top-tier training.
This role is perfect for someone who has mastered the structure of a corporate environment and is now ready to channel that expertise into a more entrepreneurial, creative, and forward-looking setting. At Teakie, you’ll move beyond spreadsheets and forecasts—leveraging your skills to shape businesses, support operations, and guide ventures that are as aesthetic as they are strategic.
You’ll thrive if you’re detail-obsessed yet visionary, equally comfortable preparing cash flow forecasts and investor reports as you are building polished pitch decks, shaping brand strategies, and supporting operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy – Build financial models, valuations, and cash flow forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
- Investor Materials – Prepare investor reports, business descriptions, and polished presentations that communicate with clarity and impact.
- Corporate Development – Support evaluation of new ventures, partnerships, and M&A opportunities across Teakie’s client brands and in-house portfolio.
- Brand Strategy – Partner with leadership and creative teams to align business performance with brand vision and positioning.
- Operational Support – Provide insight and structure to operations, ensuring financial strategy connects seamlessly with day-to-day execution.
- Market Research – Conduct industry, competitor, and trend analysis to identify risks, opportunities, and growth levers.
- Performance Monitoring – Track KPIs, analyze business performance, and prepare dashboards for leadership and stakeholders.
- Strategic Storytelling – Translate complex analysis into compelling narratives and pitch-ready materials.
Qualifications
- Education – Bachelor of Commerce in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA, CFA, or MBA an asset).
- Experience – 3-5+ years in investment banking, the Big 4, corporate finance, or corporate development.
- Analytical Expertise – Strong financial modeling, valuation, and forecasting skills.
- Brand & Business Acumen – Experience supporting strategy and operations within brand-driven or entrepreneurial environments is a strong asset.
- Presentation Skills – Proven ability to create polished, investor-ready presentations and pitch decks.
- Detail-Oriented – Meticulous approach to numbers, structure, and execution.
- Communication – Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Languages – Bilingual (English / French) is an asset.
