PHP Programmer

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced PHP Programmer to join our team on a 12-month contract, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent role. You'll work on building, maintaining, and improving web applications, contributing to API development, and helping visualize workflows with clear documentation. This is a fully remote position where collaboration and independence go hand in hand.

What You'll Do

• Build, test, and maintain web applications using PHP and related technologies
• Design and document RESTful APIs for system integrations
• Write clean, reusable, and secure code following best practices
• Create technical documentation, including limited AI-related documentation
• Develop flowcharts and diagrams to explain workflows and system processes
• Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure reliability and performance
• Participate in code reviews and Agile team collaboration
• Stay up to date with industry tools and trends

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional PHP programming experience
• Strong understanding of OOP and MVC architecture
• Experience with PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, etc.)
• Proficiency in front-end tech (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX)
• Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
• Experience in API development and integration
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Exceptional English skills, written and verbal.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with AI systems and workflow documentation
• Experience with tools like Docker, Git, CI / CD pipelines
• Background in Agile / Scrum environments
