You will be responsible for regulatory monitoring, environmental reporting and monitoring, and the implementation of environmental best practices to support the operations of the Montreal refinery and distribution terminals in the province of Quebec. The position requires the ability to influence to ensure operational discipline and continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ensure compliance with water, air and soil regulations
  • Provide environmental compliance advice to the various teams at the refinery
  • Proactively work with regulatory authorities to ensure approvals and permits are in place, manage relations with stakeholders and government bodies
  • Participate in project management in terms of environmental needs and evaluate control measures during the progress of projects
  • Support the planning of major plant shutdowns to ensure safe and efficient execution
  • Ensure that risk management processes and tools are used to effectively identify hazards, provide controls to mitigate identified risks
  • Develop and maintain processes for reporting, potential investigations, and testing to develop appropriate corrective and preventive actions

Responsibilities:

Location and Other Important Details:

  • You will work at our offices at the Suncor Montreal refinery, located at 11701 Sherbrooke Street East (Engineering Department)
  • Normal working hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended working hours depending on the needs of the business
  • Our professional positions follow internal compensation guidelines and the compensation range is usually based on years of experience and scope of work.
