Product Manager - Deploy at AKUR8. AKUR8 is an insurtech scale-up transforming insurance pricing and reserving with transparent machine learning. Our SaaS platform uses transparent ML and predictive analytics to accelerate insurers’ pricing and reserving, supported by R&D, Product, and Actuarial teams delivering AI algorithms that automate pricing and reserving. Deploy is Akur8’s rating engine and the final step in our end-to-end vision, unifying data analysis, modeling, and ratemaking into one modern software solution.

As a new and evolving product, Deploy presents exciting opportunities and challenges. It serves as a pivotal bridge between the Actuarial and IT functions within insurance, bringing together two disciplines that have traditionally operated separately. The role is based in Montréal and focuses on defining, designing, and building the rating engine of the future by translating actuarial and pricing knowledge into a robust solution for technical and business stakeholders.

More than aligning stakeholders, this role is about product definition, design, and execution, mapping complex pricing ecosystems into simple, scalable solutions. The position is cross-functional, interacting with Product Design & Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.

Main Responsibilities

• Build deep expertise in actuarial ratemaking and IT deployment challenges (product modeling, policy admin design, approval workflows).
• Ideate and iterate with Designers on flows and processes to solve and organize P&C rating challenges (e.g., structuring an insurance product across multiple states and versions; defining monitoring and alerting for a sophisticated ML model).
• Collaborate with Engineers to scope features for internal development squads.
• Engage with clients and prospects to understand pricing needs, aligning the roadmap and product vision.

You Have

• Experience in the P&C insurance industry (consultant or practitioner) with exposure to pricing, actuarial teams, or IT (policy admin or pricing systems); proven experience with rating engine platforms (e.g., Earnix, Guidewire, Duck Creek) is a strong plus.
• Experience in roles such as Product Manager, Solution Architect, or Data Scientist within insurance or SaaS domains.
• A Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative discipline.
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills; familiarity with machine learning is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a bias for robust solutions.
• Team leadership or management experience.
• Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work in a dynamic, team-driven environment.
• Fluent English.
