Responsibilities
- Provide statistical and epidemiological support for intervention-based studies and grant applications.
- Conduct research activities, including surveys, literature reviews, data collection and recording results using appropriate methods under the guidance of a research leader.
- Support dissemination of research outcomes through suitable channels, including presenting at conferences and/or workshops.
- Collaborate with the Population Child Health research group and School of Clinical Medicine UNSW; report to the Head of the Population Child Health research group.
Qualifications
- A PhD in Epidemiology/Statistics or related discipline, and/or relevant experience and/or professional accreditation.
- Competency in statistical software (preferably R, SAS and/or Stata) and experience working with large data sets.
- Experience in design and evaluation of trials is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to conduct high-quality academic research (study design, grant writing, ethics applications) and to conduct independent research with limited supervision.
- Commitment to staying up to date with disciplinary knowledge and developments; track record of publications and conference presentations.
- Understanding of UNSW’s aims, objectives and values, and knowledge of relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities with willingness to undertake relevant training.
