Responsibilities

• Provide statistical and epidemiological support for intervention-based studies and grant applications.
• Conduct research activities, including surveys, literature reviews, data collection and recording results using appropriate methods under the guidance of a research leader.
• Support dissemination of research outcomes through suitable channels, including presenting at conferences and/or workshops.
• Collaborate with the Population Child Health research group and School of Clinical Medicine UNSW; report to the Head of the Population Child Health research group.

Qualifications

• A PhD in Epidemiology/Statistics or related discipline, and/or relevant experience and/or professional accreditation.
• Competency in statistical software (preferably R, SAS and/or Stata) and experience working with large data sets.
• Experience in design and evaluation of trials is beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Proven ability to conduct high-quality academic research (study design, grant writing, ethics applications) and to conduct independent research with limited supervision.
• Commitment to staying up to date with disciplinary knowledge and developments; track record of publications and conference presentations.
• Understanding of UNSW’s aims, objectives and values, and knowledge of relevant policies and guidelines.
• Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities with willingness to undertake relevant training.
