RF Engineer

YRH Inc. is seeking dedicated, team-oriented candidates for permanent positions in the GTA, with potential opportunities at cellular operators' offices depending on profile and interest. Candidates must be members of Professional Engineers Ontario and will be involved in 4G / 5G and DAS deployments.

Responsibilities include designing and engineering IP / MPLS solutions, RF, cellular, and DAS systems, network analysis, simulations, and network performance optimization.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Design of RF, cellular, and distributed antenna systems (DAS)
  • Requirements gathering and network analysis
  • Simulation using tools such as InfoVista Planet, IBWave, Ekahau, including propagation modeling and parameter setting
  • Design of passive and active DAS, small cell, micro cell, pico cell
  • Coverage and capacity planning for LTE, 5G-NR, Wi-Fi networks
  • Design of cellular networks with LTE, LTE+, 5G-NR, Wi-Fi
  • Design of private cellular networks for Industry 4.0 and critical infrastructure
  • Creating BOM, CAPEX, and OPEX estimates
  • Drafting specifications and technical requirements
  • Selecting and designing RF transmission sites
  • Developing interconnection specifications
  • Network optimization and quality assurance
  • Performing coverage and performance measurements (walk-test & drive-test)

Profile and Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from a recognized institution
  • Member of Professional Engineers Ontario
  • 5-8 years of RF and cellular network design experience
  • Knowledge of LTE, LTE+, 5G-NR, Wi-Fi technologies
  • Experience with Ontario telecom market and critical infrastructure
  • Proficiency with modeling tools like InfoVista Planet, Ekahau, IBWave (IBWave level 2 certification is a plus)
  • Participation in telecom projects, especially cellular and DAS design
  • Understanding of interference, Safety Code 6, microwave, fiber-optic backhaul
  • Knowledge of deployment issues and troubleshooting
  • Planning, design, coordination, and project management skills
  • Autonomous, responsible, self-motivated
  • Willing to travel within the GTA
