Clinical Research Nurse

The Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) reports to the Manager, Clinical Support. The CRN is responsible for providing clinical support to the clinic and the Clinical Research Coordinators before, during, and after patient visits.
Key Responsibilities :
- Understand clinical procedures for the studies they collaborate on, ensuring compliance with protocols;
- Support Clinical Research Coordinators and investigators with tasks such as :
- Preparing materials for study visits;
- Providing support during patient visits;
- Answering basic questions from patients during visits;
- Performing blood draws, ECGs, blood pressure measurements, TEWL assessments, medical photography, etc.;
- Conducting skin biopsies;
- Printing source documents and ensuring their availability for research visits;
- Completing and filing research documents (source data, medical files);
- Ensuring quality control of research and pharmacy files;
- Responding to queries as required;
- Managing medication logistics: reception, logging, consignments, and destruction;
- Following up on laboratory and ECG reports;
- Supporting the Laboratory Coordinator with specimen processing and shipping;
- Maintaining devices, exam rooms, and necessary materials;
- Updating safety equipment and medications;
- Supporting the organization of the research clinic as needed;
- Following SOPs and maintaining training records.
Qualifications :
Education :
- College Degree in Nursing.
Experience :
- Minimum years of nursing experience; experience in clinical research is an asset;
- Experience working with patients and in clinical research.
Skills :
- Organized;
- Autonomous;
- Bilingual (English and French);
- Basic knowledge of office software (Excel, Word);
- Good understanding of good clinical practices and applicable regulations from Health Canada and FDA.
