Job Description

As a team lead, you will guide a group of passionate programmers in developing technologies that power Ubisoft games, supporting their growth, well-being, and professional development. You’ll act as their advocate, ensuring they thrive in their roles, and lead them in delivering high-quality systems that contribute to rich player experiences.

Your journey at Ubisoft will begin with training on one of our internal Engines. From there, you'll focus on Build Modernization and Engine Modification projects. We seek someone who enjoys reverse engineering, low-level tinkering, and solving complex puzzles, unafraid of legacy systems or old code, with the ability to understand and modify complex systems.

Your technical insight and adaptability will influence your team's capabilities and success. Your broad understanding of team members' roles will help coordinate efforts and maximize results.

What You’ll Do

• Distribute tasks and monitor project progress during team meetings.
• Equip your team with tools to work independently and contribute to the technological vision.
• Conduct one-on-one meetings to discuss performance, well-being, and career growth.
• Review notable bugs and determine the best fixes.
• Communicate regularly with leads across disciplines for planning, risk assessment, and timely delivery.
• Code alongside team members.
• Keep your project lead informed and collaborate with other leads to improve processes and share technologies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years managing a team of programmers
• Proficiency in C++, C#, and other game development languages
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
• Passion for games and development
• Extensive programming experience
• Experience leading a programming team in game production
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication, strategic leadership, empathy, and diplomacy
• Calmness under pressure
• Understanding of video game production from multiple professional perspectives
