The Business Development Coordinator, an entry level position, plays a key role in supporting the sales and marketing team with lead generation, prospect research, campaign execution, and day-to-day coordination. This role requires someone who is highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with strong writing skills and experience using tools like Word, Excel, CRM systems, and PowerPoint. Reporting to the EVP, North America, the coordinator will also be responsible for managing our SmartLead platform, maintaining CRM records, supporting digital outreach campaigns, and assisting in the proofreading of proposals and marketing materials. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys research and communications, and is looking to grow within a dynamic business development team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee SmartLead app operations, including cleaning and formatting Excel prospect lists, uploading data, drafting outbound campaign messages, and launching and monitoring lead generation campaigns.
- Design and execute prospecting campaigns, including list targeting, campaign segmentation, message personalization, and performance tracking.
- Conduct funding research, identifying relevant grants, investment opportunities, and industry trends to support business development initiatives.
- Maintain and organize records in the company CRM (HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, or equivalent).
- Draft and proofread content for presentations, proposals, and promotional materials.
- Develop and format PowerPoint and Word documents for internal and client-facing use.
- Conduct company and market research to support prospecting and business development.
- Schedule meetings and coordinate logistics for senior team members attending external events.
- Participate in internal team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions.
- Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g. ActiveCampaign, HubSpot).
- High level of comfort with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Creative thinker with a good eye for formatting and detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
CONDITIONS
- Hybrid position for candidates based in Montreal.
- Remote work available for candidates located elsewhere in Canada.
- Contract position with annual compensation between $40,000–$50,000 CAD, commensurate with experience.
