Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Tooling Designer to join our client's aerospace manufacturing team on a 12-month contract. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, modifying, and updating tooling based on method requirements, while ensuring effective communication with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers. Your expertise will directly support jig testing, technical problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives in tooling design.

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Tooling Designer to join our client's aerospace manufacturing team on a 12-month contract. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, modifying, and updating tooling based on method requirements, while ensuring effective communication with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers. Your expertise will directly support jig testing, technical problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives in tooling design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and update tooling drawings using CATIA V5, following Bombardier Tool Design Methodology
  • Participate in jig testing with various departments
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve technical challenges
  • Contribute to process improvements and innovation in tooling design
  • Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and industry standards

Required Qualifications

  • College diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Tool Design specialization preferred)
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical design or industrial manufacturing
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5; Siemens NX experience an asset
  • Knowledge of PLM systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Bilingual (French and English) - English working knowledge considered an asset
  • Ability to manage deadlines, solve problems, and work collaboratively
  • Familiarity with aerospace tooling, composites, machining, and 3D printing
