Coordinator of Student Programming at Hebrew Academy

The Coordinator of Student Programming plays a key role in fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging student life experience. This position is responsible for organizing and supporting a wide range of co curricular programs and activities, including student clubs, events, leadership initiatives, and athletics-related logistics. While not responsible for athletic league oversight, the Coordinator serves as the high school’s internal liaison for tournaments and athletic events, working collaboratively with coaches, staff, and external league coordinators. The coordinator reports to the principal and all payments and is expected to work collaboratively with other members of the team.

Key Responsibilities :

Student Programming & Engagement

  • Plan, organize, and promote school-wide student events, assemblies, and co-curricular programs.
  • Support the development and supervision of student clubs, councils, and leadership initiatives, including but not limited to the student newspaper.
  • Facilitate student involvement in school spirit and culture-building activities.
  • Coordinate logistics for guest speakers, workshops, and special events, including organizing Shabbatonim, Sukkot trips, Chanukah and Purim events, among others.

Athletics & Tournament Support

  • Act as the school liaison for regional tournaments (including out of town tournaments), coordinating schedules and communication with external league organizers, and as the case may be, handling all logistics surrounding out of town tournaments.
  • Support internal logistics for team sports (e.g., transportation, supervision, uniforms, facility bookings).
  • Cooperate with coaches to enhance the student-athlete experience through spirit events and team-building.
  • Organize school-hosted tournaments or athletic events in coordination with relevant staff.
  • Cultivate a spirit of leadership, team building and respectful and meaningful communications with and from students and ensure that all activities which are directly or indirectly linked to co-curricular programs occur in harmony with the values of the school.
  • Administrative & Communication Duties :

  • Maintain calendars, budgets, and inventory for student life programming.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding upcoming events and opportunities.
  • Gather feedback from students and staff to continually enhance programming.
  • Ensure activities are inclusive, age-appropriate, and aligned with the school’s mission and values.
  • Qualifications :

  • Relevant post-secondary diploma in education, recreation, youth development, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience organizing student or youth programs, preferably in a school or camp setting
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and independently manage multiple projects.
  • Enthusiasm for working with youth and fostering a positive school climate.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for special events.
  • Positive references.
  • Preferred Assets :

  • Experience supporting athletics, student councils, or leadership programs.
  • Bilingualism (English and French).
  • Familiarity with Jewish values and cultural programming.
