About Turbulent, a Cloud Imperium Company
CIG Turbulent is at the forefront of game development, creating features, environments, characters, and technology for the Star Citizen universe. Located in Montreal, our talented team is dedicated to crafting immersive and innovative experiences that captivate players worldwide.
Since 2002, Turbulent has led in developing innovative technological platforms across sectors like entertainment, media, and education. Our collaboration with Cloud Imperium Games began in 2012 to develop the Star Citizen web platform, evolving into a full-fledged game development studio in 2020, supporting North American Star Citizen teams. On July 13, 2023, we proudly announced our merger with Cloud Imperium Games.
Cloud Imperium Games is known for pushing the boundaries of game creation with projects like Star Citizen, a record-breaking multiplayer space simulation, and Squadron 42, a solo adventure set in the same universe.

What will you do?
- Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to implement and maintain scalable, reliable systems
- Monitor performance and reliability of infrastructure
- Design and implement large-scale Kubernetes platforms
- Document systems and processes
- Mentor junior team members
- Share on-call responsibilities with team members
- Maintain a strong DevOps mindset
- Enhance security and mitigate risks
- Ensure resilience and availability during major releases
- Optimize resource usage and participate in capacity planning
What do we expect from our Senior DevOps?

- Effective communication in French and English (English essential for external collaboration)
- Extensive experience with unmanaged large Kubernetes clusters
- Advanced knowledge of K8s APIs, CNI, CSI, CRI
- Hands-on experience with deploying microservices on Kubernetes using GitOps and IaaC on cloud and bare-metal
- Familiarity with gRPC, HTTP/2, Protocol Buffers
- Proficiency in Go, Python, or JS in cloud-native projects
- Experience with large data stores like ElasticSearch, Kafka, MongoDB, RocksDB
- Experience with service meshes or API gateways in production
- Designing and maintaining production metrics backends like Prometheus, Thanos, Mimir
- Experience in game publishing or HPC shops (asset)
