Network Engineer

On behalf of our Financial Services client, Procom is searching for a Network Engineer for a 12-month role with the possibility of extension. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Montreal office.

Network Engineer - Job Description

The project involves the design and implementation of large-scale networks, ensuring secure and efficient separation between production and non-production environments. The ideal candidate will work on enhancing network security architectures and leading network segregation efforts.

Network Engineer - Responsibilities

• Design and implement large-scale networks
• Lead segregation efforts between production and non-production networks
• Maintain and implement network infrastructure to meet security standards
• Collaborate with team members and present network designs
• Administer network hardware and virtualization across multiple environments
• Utilize JIRA for project and task management in Agile-Kanban mode
• Work on Saturdays once a month

Network Engineer - Mandatory Skills

• Expert knowledge of Ethernet technologies: STP, 802.1x, VPC, Multilayer Switching, Leaf-Spine IP Fabric
• Proficiency in IP Routing: RIP, OSPF, BGP, MPBGP, TCP/IP
• Experience with multicast routing: PIM, IGMP, MSDP
• Platform knowledge on Cisco and Arista Switching platforms
• Experience with Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, NXOS, IOS-XR, and Arista EOS
• Strong security focus and experience with network security concepts
• Ability to develop comprehensive network implementation plans

Network Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills

• Proficient in UNIX or Linux
• Certifications: CCIE or equivalent, CISSP highly desirable
• Experience with scripting/automation using Python/Ansible
• Familiarity with SDN, SDWAN, DMVPN
• Knowledge in public cloud, Kubernetes, and VMWare

This is a 12-month contract position with the possibility of extension.
