What to Expect (Job Responsibilities) :

  • Translate text into French in accordance with Quebec’s French Language Charter and industry standards
  • Proofread and provide final approval of documents, ensuring alignment with the employer's tone of voice
  • Manage multiple assignments and prioritize workload to maximize efficiency
  • Communicate timely regarding any potential deadline challenges
  • Adapt to changes in deadlines and translation/editing processes

What is Required (Qualifications) :

  • Degree in Translation or a minimum of 3 years of legal, technical, and/or administrative translation experience
  • Fully fluent in French, both written and spoken
  • Advanced proficiency in English and French languages, grammar, and writing skills
  • Proven ability to work well with multiple priorities and within tight deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and translation tools (Trados, MultiTerm, DeepL, etc.)

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) :

  • University degree in French translation or equivalent
  • Experience in the Insurance Industry
  • Advanced problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills
  • Some publishing and/or technical writing experience
  • Certification from the Canadian Translators Council or membership in a provincial association of translators
