The mission of the Director, Product Development at Cozey

As Director, Product Development, reporting to Evan Clabots, Vice-President, Product & Innovation, your mission is to elevate Cozey’s furniture by strengthening testing capabilities, enhancing product performance, providing value to customers, and optimizing the overall customer experience.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and implement advanced testing protocols to ensure product durability, safety, and high performance, continuously refining methodologies to align with industry standards.
  • Lead improvements in product performance by optimizing material selection, engineering, and manufacturing processes to enhance longevity, comfort, and overall quality while ensuring cost efficiency and maximizing value for customers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally throughout the development process with sourcing to ensure supplier capabilities align with product roadmaps, and coordinate with operations and marketing to support a seamless product launch.
  • Master every detail of furniture development by deeply understanding construction techniques, materials, and assembly processes, while refining assembly guides for a seamless customer experience.
  • Optimize packaging, shipping, and assembly experiences by designing furniture that is easy to transport, assemble, and disassemble, reducing damage and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Continuously innovate and drive product evolution by gathering post-launch insights, monitoring product performance, and staying ahead of industry trends to position Cozey as a leader in modern, high-performing furniture.

We'd love to hear from you if you have

  • A strong background in product development, engineering, or industrial design, with experience in furniture.
  • Experience in testing environments, including knowledge of testing standards and the implementation of product tests.
  • A deep understanding of materials, construction, and manufacturing processes to drive performance improvements in furniture design and production.
  • A proven ability to manage cross-functional projects, collaborating with operations, sourcing, and logistics teams.
  • A proven ability to manage project timelines and ensure on-time launches.
  • A customer-centric mindset, with a focus on optimizing the end-to-end product experience, from testing to delivery and assembly.
  • A strategic and detail-oriented approach, capable of balancing long-term vision with hands-on execution.
  • A passion for innovation and continuous improvement, always seeking ways to elevate product quality and efficiency.
