Job Title : Events and Sponsorship Coordinator

Duration : 6-14 months

Location : Montreal, QC

Pay rate : $40 / hr - $44 / hr

Summary of the Role

The Events and Sponsorship Coordinator is responsible for defining and managing the events and sponsorship strategy across Canada. This includes client events, internal events, sponsorships, corporate hospitality, and philanthropy initiatives. The role combines strategic planning and operational execution, requiring close collaboration with Senior Management and the Front Office.

Main Responsibilities

  • Monitor key trends in events to ensure high-quality ideas and delivery (virtual, in-person, hybrid).
  • Develop and oversee the yearly event budget in collaboration with the Head of Marketing & Communications and local front officers, emphasizing added value content alongside entertainment.
  • Maintain and upgrade critical event tools (approvals, registration, calendar planning) and ensure post-event analysis.
  • Manage events from briefing to execution, including internal, industry, and proprietary events. This involves assessing event proposals for relevance, conducting due diligence on industry events, understanding stakeholder objectives for proprietary events, and coordinating team efforts to optimize branding and costs.
  • Oversee existing and new sponsorships / partnerships, including budget review and database management. Manage sponsorship contracts and activities to maximize brand visibility and activation.
  • Ensure high standards of business ethics and quality in event implementation.
  • Collaborate with Communications & Social Media teams and regional platforms to align event strategies and share best practices.
  • Coordinate philanthropy initiatives such as donations, volunteering, and philanthropic committees.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Event Management.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Preferred knowledge of the banking industry and global financial markets.
  • Experience working in a diverse, matrix organization.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Experience with event management systems; CRM platforms are a plus.
  • Proficiency in English and French.
  • Strong project management, data management, and budget skills, with an eye for detail, creativity, and a methodical approach.
