Hybrid role - 3 days in office

The senior manager corporate communications reports to the chief marketing officer. The position will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the firm’s overall communications strategy and enhancing its market presence through strategic media relations, crisis communications, internal communications, social media, and impactful communications campaigns.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the legal and business sectors and a proven ability to navigate and influence external and internal communications. This is a hands-on role in which the candidate will oversee external agency support and work closely with all members of the clients and markets team, firm leadership, and fee earners. The role will be asked to provide and support strategic planning and provide editorial guidance to all parts of the business.

You will be focusing on :

  • Drive, develop and grow the firm’s profile by creating and implementing an effective internal and external corporate communications strategy for the firm
  • Manage and monitor all firm communications by establishing and maintaining effective internal and external editorial calendars
  • Oversee all communications agency-related activities : PR, technology, social, writing, etc.
  • Manage the communications team and lead communications projects from idea to execution
  • Draft engaging content and work with internal stakeholders to create and tailor content for their key audiences
  • Function as a subject matter expert and provide guidance on what channels to use to share strategically relevant information
  • Collaborate with practice area leaders and other senior stakeholders across the business services to align internal and external communications efforts with the firm’s strategic priorities
  • Work with the creative digital and brand team to raise the profile and usage of the firm’s website and social media
  • Lead strategy for media-briefing documents and provide counsel to ensure effective communications strategies are in place for high-profile matters and crisis communications
  • Maintain accurate reporting and data to show the impact of communication efforts

What you bring to the role :

  • Relevant degree in communications, or related field
  • A minimum of 15+ years of experience in corporate communications, preferably in the professional services industry
  • Extensive experience in internal and external communications, with a solid understanding of public relations principles
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic communications plans that drive business objectives and enhance organizational reputation
  • Proven ability to craft compelling content and manage high-stakes executive and market interactions
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with media, stakeholders, and internal teams
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and a strategic mindset
  • Excellent project management skills; organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Proactive and collaborative attitude with true understanding of the agility needed to capitalize on changing market conditions
  • Superior interpersonal and client management skills
