As part of the Manulife Investment Management team, the Business Development Associate is a member of a wholesaling team that includes a District Vice President and a Business Development Manager .

Your main responsibility will be to partner with sales teams to achieve sales targets. This involves understanding the sales needs of your territories, participating in business development initiatives, and working directly with advisors.

You should be an effective communicator, well-organized, collaborative, proactive, a problem solver, and results-oriented. Occasional travel for training, meetings, and territory events is expected.

Basic knowledge of retail wealth products like mutual funds and ETFs will be beneficial for your career growth at Manulife Investment Management.

The Opportunity :

  • Build and maintain relationships with advisors and internal partners
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the annual territory business plan
  • Assist in preparing reports and fund proposals
  • Coordinate and participate in industry events
  • Act as the main contact with partners
  • Schedule meetings for the District Vice President
  • Manage territory budgets
  • Facilitate weekly team meetings
  • Spearhead Portfolio Manager access requests
  • Plan and execute events from start to finish
  • Manage email distribution lists and execute marketing campaigns
  • Guide sales teams on policies and regulations

This role is suitable for candidates who :

  • Are flexible and adaptable with changing priorities
  • Possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Are self-starters and quick learners in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate professionalism and tact
  • Have strong PC skills, especially in Word and Excel, and experience with Salesforce and SAP Concur
  • Job requirements :

  • Post-secondary education preferred
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or IFIC course is an asset
  • Experience in mutual funds or financial planning industry is an asset

    Location and Compensation

    Primary Location : Montreal, Quebec

    Working Arrangement : Hybrid

    Salary range : $44,775.00 CAD - $74,625.00 CAD. Contact [email protected] for location-specific salary info. Compensation may include incentives based on performance.
