APRIL Canada, awarded for best customer service in 2023 and Digital Innovator of the Year in 2022, is a wholesale broker specializing in damage insurance, distributed through a network of 4,000 brokers (B2B) via innovative solutions. We develop and offer a wide range of insurance products for individuals and businesses, tailored to their needs.

Part of the APRIL group based in France, APRIL Canada employs 100 people across two offices (Brossard and Toronto). The group in North America represents the French-based April group, which has 2,700 employees worldwide.

We are currently seeking a Programmer Analyst for our Brossard office, located near the dix30, Champlain Mall, and Panama REM station.

What APRIL expects from you :

Alongside your team, you will work in an Agile (Scrum) environment to build and improve our impactful digital tools. As a back-end developer, you will play a key role in our digital transformation, with a technical playground ahead.

Your daily missions include :

  • Designing and developing robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions for our B2B and B2C clients.
  • Participating in the development of a comprehensive solution for managing submissions, insurance policies, contract lifecycle, and pricing.
  • Implementing complex functionalities in C#, focusing on performance and business algorithms.
  • Programming according to specifications, standards, and timelines.
  • Writing clean, modular, and robust code to meet requirements.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues.
  • Participating in testing and deployment of the final product.
  • Proposing architectural, refactoring, or optimization improvements.

What will make you stand out?

  • Diploma in computer science or relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in C# and .NET, and enjoy technical challenges.
  • Familiarity with HTTP requests, data / file transfers.
  • Interest in learning new languages.
  • Strong background in algorithms and software design.
  • Effective collaboration skills with the rest of the stack (JS, TypeScript, Angular, SQL).
  • Knowledge of insurance or finance is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite is a plus.
  • Experience with version control tools like GIT.
  • Experience with Agile tools like JIRA.
  • Good command of English, both spoken and written, to communicate with English-speaking clients.
