As Coordinator - Sustainable Development within the Environment and Sustainable Development team, you will be responsible for coordinating the production of Pomerleau's annual sustainable development report, as well as for improving Pomerleau's circular economy performance. You will have the opportunity to develop, coordinate, and complete initiatives aimed at implementing concrete actions on large-scale building and infrastructure construction projects—ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion. Your role will involve influencing and supporting operational teams to actively contribute to Pomerleau's sustainable development strategy.

What you will do

  • Coordinate the production of Pomerleau's annual development report, including follow-up of the project schedule and collaboration with the various stakeholders responsible for content, from project planning to final drafting of the report;
  • Coordinate the quarterly update of circular economy performance, including the completion of the residual materials inventory;
  • Equip the company with a Residual Materials Management Policy that maximizes the diversion of residual materials generated by the company;
  • Identify, develop, and coordinate the deployment of solutions for the recovery of construction and demolition residues (CRD), in collaboration with suppliers and operational teams;
  • Deploy a tool for the traceability of residual materials on construction sites;
  • Support project teams coast to coast in the sound management of residual materials (e.g., drafting waste management plans, identifying detour solutions);
  • Develop and implement, in collaboration with Procurement and Logistics teams, a plan to promote responsible procurement practices;
  • Coordinate the evaluation of environmental, social, and governance performance of strategic suppliers;
  • Coordinate communications related to the sustainable development report and circular economy, in collaboration with the Communications team.

This role could be for you if you have

  • University degree in environment, sustainable development, environmental engineering, management, or a similar field;
  • 5+ years in coordinating, developing, or implementing sustainable development projects and reports;
  • Knowledge of the construction industry (asset);
  • Experience on construction sites (asset);
  • Knowledge of environmental regulatory frameworks (asset).
