The Director of Commercial Intelligence is a customer-centric leader passionate about leveraging data to tell compelling stories. Reporting to the Senior Director of Commercial Intelligence, the successful candidate will lead a team responsible for delivering data-driven insights and visualizations that improve business outcomes. This role requires an innovative leader to achieve key Marketing & Commercial Operations (MCO) business objectives, both financial and non-financial. By effectively leveraging data, the Director will deliver strategic insights that inform business activities, driving revenue and market share growth. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional collaboration skills across diverse groups, supporting business growth opportunities. They encourage open communication, build strong partnerships, and inspire others to work toward common goals. The Director will play a crucial role in fostering a data-driven culture within the organization, ensuring that insights are used to drive strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Manage the team responsible for using advanced data analytics techniques to extract actionable insights from complex data sets and create compelling visualizations to support decision-making.
  • Support the development and implementation of the strategic roadmap for Commercial Intelligence, engaging regularly with key MCO stakeholders to ensure evolving business needs are met.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Commercial Operations to develop and monitor KPIs to measure the success of strategic initiatives and foster continuous improvement within Sales & Marketing.
  • Lead the development and delivery of business insights from various data sources, including sales trends, market analysis, point of sale, marketing campaigns, etc.
  • Foster a data-driven culture, leveraging technology, AI, and digital tools to identify efficiency opportunities and promote continuous improvement.
  • Guide the development of the framework for the Net Promoter Score (NPS) survey and establish cross-functional partnerships to formalize action plans based on survey results.
  • Lead analytical and insight activities related to NPS and other customer surveys.
  • Ensure strict data governance within the team.
  • Use professional, innovative presentation methods to communicate data insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders and senior management.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Implement employee engagement, performance management, career development, and succession planning activities to build team capabilities and growth opportunities.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in data analytics and strategic insight delivery
  • 6+ years in leadership roles managing teams
  • Proven leadership skills with excellent communication and engagement abilities
  • Deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and market dynamics
  • Knowledge of distribution and retail pharmacy operations is advantageous
  • Proficiency with Power BI, Snowflake, CRM, Data Cloud, IQVIA, etc.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Familiarity with AI tools and technologies for data analysis and decision-making
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills, capable of managing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer-centric ethic and ability to anticipate customer needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively and develop cross-functional relationships
  • Bilingual in English and French (written and spoken) is an asset
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% to support business needs
