TEMPORARY JOB – PARENTAL LEAVE COVERAGE
WHO WE ARE
The pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance (pCPA) brings together provincial, territorial, and federal governments for the purpose of increasing and managing access to clinically relevant and cost-effective medicines. Through collective negotiations, the pCPA has realized overall savings (as of April 1, 2024) for governments of $3.72 billion annually for brand name drugs and $914 million annually for generic drugs totaling $4.63 billion annually. The pCPA offers a 100% remote (within Canada) work environment.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a key member of the communications division, the communications specialist provides coordination services and content development support to meet the pCPA’s core business goals and priorities. Areas of support include corporate communications, translation, editing, and public affairs.
The person holding this position also plays a critical role in ensuring the pCPA lives up to its pan-Canadian nature by supporting internal and external partners in both official languages. Bilingual capability — both in terms of coordination skills and linguistic proficiency in French and English — enables the pCPA to support francophones from across the country in a greater and more meaningful way.
The communications specialist holds a post-secondary degree in communications, translation, journalism, public relations or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and more than two years’ experience. They have experience leading media monitoring, communications development, and engagement activities.
The ideal candidate has exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and French. Additionally, they have a strong passion for engagement and a commitment to building an effective and dynamic organizational culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Translation services
- Coordinates translation requests.
- Performs comparative editing (French-English) and ensures adequate localization.
- Provides feedback to translation vendors to ensure consistency across the pCPA’s communications tools and content.
- Develops, maintains, and manages glossaries and related internal guides and ensures translation vendors use the latest versions.
