Position : LookML Developer / Engineer - Business Intelligence & Data VisualizationLocation : Remote (Canada) - Strong preference for candidates located in Montreal, QCAbout the Role : We're looking for a talented LookML Developer / Engineer to join our growing data team. This role is ideal for someone who excels in data modeling, LookML development, and custom visualization work, and is excited about pushing the limits of what's possible in Looker.You'll be responsible for building and optimizing our Looker environment—from powerful data models to dynamic dashboards and embedded analytics experiences. We want someone who's passionate about performance, obsessed with clean code, and excited by the possibilities of integrating AI and automation into their workflow.What You'll Be Doing : LookML Development & Optimization- Design, develop, and maintain scalable LookML models, dashboards, dimensions, and measures- Optimize performance and scalability using AI-assisted tools and best practices- Refactor SQL queries for efficiency and maintainabilityCustom Visualization & Theming- Build custom JavaScript visualizations that go beyond standard Looker capabilities- Apply company branding and styles through custom theming- Embed dashboards and visualizations seamlessly into our web appAI-Enhanced Workflow- Leverage AI for automating repetitive coding tasks, debugging, and performance tuning- Use AI-powered tools to streamline testing and code reviewsIntegration & APIs- Use the Looker API to fetch data and integrate with external systems and front-end apps- Work with development teams to ensure seamless integration with internal portals and client-facing toolsCollaboration & Documentation- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate data needs into actionable insights- Maintain clear documentation for LookML models, visualizations, and integrationsTroubleshooting & Monitoring- Implement alerting and monitoring systems to proactively detect issues- Debug LookML and dashboard issues using both traditional methods and AI-based toolsWho You Are : Must-Haves : - Solid experience with LookML development and Looker best practices- Strong SQL and data modeling expertise- Proficiency with JavaScript for Looker visualizations- Experience working with Looker APIs and embedded analytics- Familiarity with performance optimization techniques (caching, pre-calcs, etc.)- Strong collaboration and communication skillsNice-to-Haves : - Exposure to cloud infrastructure, serverless computing, or modern front-end framework- Experience using AI / ML tools in BI workflows (e.g., code generation, automated QA, predictive modeling)- Previous work in healthcare analytics or regulated industriesWhy Join Us?We're building something that matters.
