As a VFX Team Lead at Ubi Montreal you will guide your team in creating high-quality optimized visual effects while supporting their professional growth and motivation. You will work closely with the Production Manager (PM) to oversee work quality and ensure deadlines are met for a small team. You'll follow up on and validate deliverables, coach team members and when necessary oversee certain aspects of the game's development.
What you'll do
- Mentor the team in both technical VFX (performance integration) and artistic aspects (textures, animations, emitters).
- Represent the team and act as their liaison with other stakeholders.
- Organize and lead team meetings.
- Fully understand the game's story, gameplay and design documents as well as its technical and artistic constraints to effectively lead and coach the team.
- Assign tasks and conduct regular follow-ups on progress and deliverables.
- Anticipate and identify potential conflicts, recommending solutions to the Production Manager.
- Participate in performance evaluations in collaboration with the Production Manager.
- Coordinate bug fixes related to the team's work.
- Facilitate the onboarding of new employees.
- Contribute to recruiting new team members.

Une part essentielle de votre rôle consiste à travailler étroitement avec le Superviseur Effets Visuels pour établir les devis et avec le Responsable des Ressources du Studio pour planifier et organiser les ressources afin de répondre efficacement aux besoins du travail. En tant que force motrice de votre équipe, vous planifiez activement son travail quotidien en veillant à ce qu'elle soit soutenue par les départements du studio lorsque nécessaire, tout en la motivant à collaborer étroitement et avec assurance pour garantir la progression du travail selon la satisfaction du client.

The Visual Effects Producer is at the heart of production and is responsible for managing all aspects of a show, liaising with the client throughout. They are responsible for the efficient running of the production, you will be reporting directly on the progress of the visual effects work each week to both the client and Head of Production. As a main part of your role, you will work closely with the Visual Effects Supervisor to bid work, and also in working with the Facility Resource Manager to plan and schedule resources to effectively approach the needs of the work.
As the driving force of your team, you will actively plan their day-to-day work, ensuring they are supported by facility departments where required, whilst motivating them to work closely and confidently with their teams to ensure the progression of the work to the client’s satisfaction.
Must Have
- Minimum experience as a VFX Producer for 5+ years overseeing and managing high profile, high shot count shows
- Proven project management experience
- Expertise in building effective working relationships and communicating with clients
- Experience dealing with high stress shows and demanding requests
- High-level knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and represent DNEG

The base salary range for this full-time position is $140,000 to $175,000. DNEG salary ranges are determined by function, department, level, and location. An individual's pay within a given range is determined by their transferrable or job-related skills and work experience.
