THE OPPORTUNITY

Workland is hiring for a well-known client with a strong presence in the North American market and production facilities in Quebec, Canada.

Our client is a commercial printing leader serving major accounts across Canada. Its operations are built on advanced equipment, skilled teams, and demanding quality standards. For its web printing plant, we are seeking an experienced web offset press operator who is ready to play an active role in press operations while expanding their technical knowledge and versatility.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Under the supervision of the press department supervisor, and in close collaboration with the lead offset press operator, you will help set up, run, and maintain the printing equipment (web offset presses). You will support make-readies, job changeovers, and material supply to keep production safe, efficient, and consistently up to quality standards.

KEY DUTIES

• Help set up the press and mount printing plates.
• Carry out make-ready tasks and fine-tune equipment settings.
• Keep the press continuously stocked with paper rolls, ink, solvents, and other supplies.
• Conduct thorough quality inspections at every stage of the run.
• Take an active part in job changeovers and all phases of production.
• Support preventive maintenance and cleaning to keep equipment in top condition.
• Spot and resolve operational issues to improve press efficiency.
• Work with your team to meet productivity and quality goals.
• Step in for the Lead Press Operator when needed, with the motivation to grow into that role.
• Provide clear, complete information at shift changeovers.
• Apply and encourage workplace health and safety practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (DES).
• Printing-related training or relevant experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
• At least 5 years of experience operating web (rotary) offset presses.
• Experience on sheet-fed presses is an asset.
• Working knowledge of the printing process and practical experience with ink handling.
• Mechanical skills and a genuine interest in industrial machinery.
• Good organization and the ability to juggle priorities.
