Software Engineer – Java, Spring Boot, DevSecOps, Cloud, Platform Engineering

Job Description:

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join a Global Enterprise Technology Team responsible for the development, modernization, security, and operational reliability of mission-critical information distribution systems and file transfer platforms.

The candidate will play a key role in improving the security posture, resilience, and overall health of our platforms. This includes supporting vulnerability remediation, reducing technical debt, modernizing legacy applications, and improving reliability through automation, observability, and engineering best practices.

Compétences requises

Programmation et génie logiciel

  • Understanding of secure software development practices and common application security Strong programming skills in Java; Java 17 or later is preferred
  • Experience with Python and/or JavaScript
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and REST API development
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented design and software engineering principles

Sécurité & fiabilité de la plateforme

  • Understanding of secure software development practices and common application security risks
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management, dependency upgrades, and remediation activities
  • Knowledge of secure coding principles
  • Understanding of high availability, resiliency, and fault-tolerant system design concepts

Infrastructure & systèmes

  • Good working knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting
  • Familiarity with networking protocols such as HTTPS, SSH/SFTP, SMTP, TLS, and TCP/IP
  • Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server

Pratiques d’ingénierie modernes

  • Experience with Git-based development workflows
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation testing
  • Exposure to container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift

Compétences professionnelles

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to investigate complex production issues and drive them to resolution
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a global team environment

Qualifications préférées

  • Experience with distributed systems and messaging technologies such as Kafka or IBM MQ
  • Familiarity with enterprise file transfer platforms and managed file transfer platforms
  • Knowledge of cryptography, PGP, key management, and certificate management
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry
  • Familiarity with Software Composition Analysis, Static Application Security Testing, and vulnerability scanning tools
  • Experience with workflow automation technologies such as Temporal
  • Interest in DevSecOps, Platform Engineering, and large-scale modernization initiatives

Responsabilités

Sécurité et hygiène de plateforme

  • Support remediation of application and infrastructure vulnerabilities identified in security scanning, penetration testing, and risk assessments
  • Upgrade and maintain application frameworks, third-party libraries, and platform components to support secure versions
  • Reduce technical debt and improve application maintainability, stability, and security
  • Partner with cyber infrastructure teams to address security findings and implement remediation plans
  • Contribute to secure software development practices and security-by-design principles

Ingénierie de la résilience & de la fiabilité

  • Improve platform reliability, resiliency, and recoverability through system enhancements and automation
  • Participate in root cause analysis and remediation of production incidents with a focus on preventing recurring issues
  • Develop and improve monitoring, alerting, and observability capabilities to strengthen system health and operational visibility
  • Identify and address single points of failure, performance bottlenecks, and operational risks
  • Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and platform hardening initiatives

Développement applicatif & modernisation

  • Design, develop, and support enterprise applications, APIs, and platform services
  • Modernize legacy systems through adoption of contemporary frameworks, architectures, and engineering practices
  • Develop integrations between internal systems and enterprise platforms
  • Contribute to POC initiatives and evaluation of emerging technologies

DevOps & automatisation

  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to improve software quality and delivery efficiency
  • Automate testing, deployment, compliance, and operational processes
  • Support containerized and cloud-ready application architectures
