Description

The Labour Relations Advisor supports a manufacturing workforce of approximately 500 unionized employees. The incumbent provides day-to-day labour relations support, ensuring the consistent application of collective agreements, employment policies, and applicable legislation. The role serves as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees while contributing to organizational initiatives within a manufacturing environment undergoing significant transformation.

This position operates within a manufacturing organization that is actively transforming its processes, facilities, and ways of working, including the implementation of LEAN management practices and manufacturing floor modernization projects.

Responsabilités

  • Manage and support labour relations matters, including workplace investigations, disciplinary processes, grievances, accommodation requests, and other employee relations issues.

  • Advise and support managers on the interpretation and application of collective agreements, labour legislation, and human resources policies.

  • Support managers in disability management, return-to-work programs, and reasonable accommodation processes.

  • Analyze labour relations trends and recurring issues, including grievances, discipline, absenteeism, and workplace climate concerns, and recommend preventive actions and sustainable solutions.

  • Prepare and support cases for union meetings, mediations, arbitrations, and other dispute resolution processes.

  • Coach managers on the prevention, management, and resolution of labour relations issues while strengthening their understanding of contractual and legal obligations.

  • Support leaders through organizational change initiatives by promoting proactive communication, employee engagement, and alignment between labour relations practices and business objectives.

  • Participate in transformation and continuous improvement projects, including initiatives related to LEAN management and manufacturing modernization.

  • Communicate and support the implementation of new or revised human resources policies and practices.

  • Collaborate with HR and change management teams to support organizational transformation initiatives.

Qualifications minimales

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Labour Relations, or a related field.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in labour relations.

  • Experience supporting a unionized workforce.

  • Experience interpreting and applying collective agreements.

  • Experience managing grievances, disciplinary matters, workplace investigations, and accommodation requests.

  • Knowledge of applicable labour laws and employment regulations.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and complex environment.

  • Strong conflict resolution, mediation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to coach and influence managers on labour relations matters.

  • Bilingualism in English and French, both written and spoken.

  • Ability to work on-site four (4) days per week.

  • Availability to work a standard Monday-to-Friday schedule (40 hours per week).
