About the role

We are seeking a technically strong and analytically driven Senior Software Developer to join our Identity and Access Management (IAM) team. This role is designed for a skilled software engineer and problem solver who brings solid programming foundations, a security-aware mindset, and the ability to quickly ramp up across the full breadth of our IAM functions.

You do not need to have worked with SailPoint IIQ before but you must be the kind of engineer who digs deep, learns fast, and writes clean, maintainable code. You will work alongside our Specialist-level engineers, contribute to the technical delivery of our Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) program, and grow into a well-rounded IAM practitioner across our technology stack.

What You'll Do Here:

  • Develop and maintain customizations, rules, workflows, tasks, and integrations within SailPoint IIQ under the guidance of senior specialists, progressively taking greater ownership as your platform expertise grows.
  • Write high-quality code and scripts to automate identity lifecycle processes, support integrations, and improve operational efficiency across the team's IAM portfolio.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex identity and access issues across our Joiner, Mover, and Leaver (JML) processes, role models, and application connectors applying structured analytical thinking to get to root cause fast.
  • Support the onboarding of new applications into our governance framework, contributing to connector development, data mapping, and testing to ensure accurate provisioning and access tracking.
  • Contribute to access certification campaigns, helping to maintain the business logic, scheduling, and audit readiness of periodic reviews.
  • Assist in the governance of service accounts and non-human identities, ensuring they are subject to the same lifecycle standards as human users.
  • Collaborate actively with the Entra ID (Azure AD) and PAM (CyberArk) teams to support a unified identity security posture across cloud and privileged environments.
  • Produce clear technical documentation designs, runbooks, test results, and process guides that raises the team's collective knowledge base.
  • Support and learn from Specialist-level engineers while actively contributing your programming expertise to accelerate team delivery.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in software engineering, systems integration, or a security/IAM-adjacent role.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver in complex, enterprise-scale technical environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Java you are comfortable reading, writing, and debugging Java code in a real enterprise context.
  • Experience with at least one scripting language: Python, PowerShell, or Bash/Shell.
  • Solid working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and XML
  • Familiarity with SQL for data queries, reporting, and troubleshooting identity data flows.
  • Experience with version control (Git) and clean software development practices (code reviews, testing, documentation).
  • A working understanding of IAM concepts: identity lifecycle, RBAC/ABAC, provisioning, access reviews, MFA, and SSO.
  • Awareness of security and compliance frameworks such as NIST, SOX, or ISO 27001
  • Familiarity with Active Directory / Entra ID (Azure AD) and directory services concepts.
  • Understanding of Zero Trust principles and the importance of least-privilege access.
  • Familiarity with SCIM, SOAP, or LDAP protocols.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform).
  • SailPoint or relevant security certifications (CISSP, Security+, or SailPoint certifications) are a bonus.
  • A self-starter mentality you take initiative, ask smart questions, and don't wait to be told what to do next.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills you can document your work clearly and explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented you share knowledge freely, support peers, and contribute positively to the team culture.
  • Strong ethical principles and a genuine commitment to information security best practices.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
