L’Associate est responsable de contribuer à la croissance rentable et à la qualité du portefeuille de la banque commerciale et immobilière à travers le Canada en participant, au sein d’une équipe de couverture, à l’élaboration de solutions de crédit complexes pour des clients de Real Estate Investment Fund : clients Real Estate Developers et clients Real Estate Builder. Les activités incluent l’analyse des risques, la diligence raisonnable, la structuration des opérations, la tarification du crédit, la négociation et la préparation des demandes de crédit dans le cadre de l’équipe de transaction (« Deal Team ») avec le Director et Head, Associate Director et CSA. L’Associate assurera également la liaison avec Global Risk Management dans le cadre du processus de décision relatif au crédit.
Responsabilités
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will :
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Contributes to the profitable development of National Commercial Credit business by:
- Participating in the timely analysis, structuring and preparation of credit/financial solutions proposals
- Providing prompt and sound recommendations in the analysis and presentation of credit proposals
- Restructuring marginal proposals into bankable deals where possible
- Synthesize industry research and competitive analysis
- Analyze client business cases and proposals for reasonability
- Modelling building/development of covenant patterns/vetting and stress testing of projections
- Meeting with clients and prospects as part of the “Deal Team” (as appropriate)
- Ensure the accurate communication of the terms and conditions of an authorization and supervises the effective and timely implementation of same by:
- Reviewing all credit authorizations to ensure accuracy completeness and clarity
- Ensuring prompt follow-up for acceptance of the authorization and reacting swiftly to any problems, amendments, extensions, reporting to senior management where necessary
- Executing and effectively addressing issues surrounding the adequacy, quality and completeness of loan documentation and security
- Liaising with the client to ensure the accurate execution and delivery of documentation prior to disbursement of funds
- Contribute to the documentation and closing of authorized transactions by:
- Vetting security documentation required to close loan transactions and promptly and effectively addressing issues surrounding the adequacy, quality and completeness of loan documentation and security
- Assisting the Deal Team in the detailed evaluation of all information received and for analysis of closing conditions and reporting deficiencies or any findings to senior management
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture is considered in day-today activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk. Including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook, and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Compétences
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
- University Degree in Business or other related fields
- 3 years experience in Commercial Real Estate Banking strongly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, in French and English
- Good credit skills and significant credit experience
- Strong assessment and analysis skill
- Strong accounting and financial analysis skill
- Good deal structuring skills
- Good understanding of customer profitability model
- Ability to build solid business case justification for deals
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Good product knowledge
- Good industry knowledge with areas of specialization where required
- Strong financial modelling and computer skills including Excel
- Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
- Limited travel locally may be required.
Exigences linguistiques
In addition to French, the successful candidate must also have sufficient knowledge of English, as the work involves interacting and collaborating regularly with groups and individuals based in Toronto, as well as constantly interacting with other people, including clients, who speak English, locally and elsewhere.
