Description du poste

Sous la supervision de l’Assistant Directeur, l’Agent de bureau principal de classe organise, coordonne et surveille le travail effectué par son équipe d’autres Agents de bureau, et s’assure que les délais sont respectés.

Fonctions et tâches

  • Organize, coordinate, monitor the work performed by other Office Agents within the division;
  • Creates employee files;
  • Gathers, compiles, validates and registers time sheets and absence reports;
  • Creates, enters & verifies various third party deductions for example (government seizures, municipal housing or our finance & transport department);
  • Simulates employee payroll calculation in specific situations;
  • Modifies basic information in the employees file;
  • Responds to inquiries by administrators or employees regarding pay issues;
  • Files documents;
  • Ensures the training of staff;
  • Makes suggestions and recommendations in methods to improve the operations of the office agents;
  • He or she carries out complex and specialized duties; finds, prepares and verifies data; prepares documents, statements and reports, including the entry of data that he or she must interpret, if necessary, and that he or she locates in or outside the school board;
  • The employee deals with the public or with employees concerning, in particular, the methods of payment or collection or any other matter within his or her competence;
  • The employee makes suggestions and recommendations designed to improve the operations for which he or she is responsible;
  • The employee uses a computer and the necessary software to perform his or her duties related to word processing, database entry, spreadsheets and in-house programs; he or she carries out research on the Internet; uses electronic mail;
  • He or she may be required to help, on occasion, colleagues with the common software and programs used;
  • Any other related task.

Qualifications

Secondary 5 and 6 years of relevant experience.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

Exigences

  • Experience in computer data entry
  • Knowledge of offices Microsoft office software
  • Fluency in 2 of the 3 working languages of the Board (Inuktitut, French, and English). Written and spoken Inuktitut in an asset.
  • Knowledge GRICS payroll system.
  • Autonomy

Horaire de travail

35 hours/week from Monday to Friday.

Classement / Salaire / Avantages

In accordance with the AENQ collective agreement for support staff, this position belongs to job category 4101: from $26.51 to $32.44 an hour depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
