Our client is currently looking for a Senior Finance Director who will be responsible for financial management across all Canadian operations. In this role, you will oversee financial planning, monitor financial performance, and manage the various business units. You will ensure the reliability of financial information, lead the budget development process, optimize operational processes, and support the organization’s growth strategies. As a true business partner, you will play a key role in aligning financial and operational decisions with corporate objectives, while ensuring compliance, efficiency, and profitability across all operations.

Principales tâches et responsabilités

  • Lead and optimize the budgeting process.
  • Ensure the effective use of the human and material resources entrusted to them in order to achieve corporate and departmental objectives.
  • Manage the human resources of their team (hiring, management, etc.).
  • Manage and optimize the activities of the accounting teams at the various sites and liaise with the Shared Services headquarters (accounts payable and accounts receivable).
  • Harmonize accounting processes and general ledger accounts in accordance with the company’s objectives.
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with accounting standards for various stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement financial control policies and procedures.
  • Ensure clear interpretation and presentation of financial data.
  • Manage external audit firms and financial institutions.
  • Manage cash flow.
  • Evaluate investment projects.
  • Ensure that financial targets (EBITDA, liquidity) are met for the Canadian business units.
  • Oversee and supervise external audits.
  • Interpret, analyze, and present financial results to senior management.
  • Serve on various strategic committees.
  • Lead, support, and oversee the annual and quarterly budgeting process.
  • Support business units in achieving their objectives.
  • Coordinate cash management.
  • Lead, support, and coach employees under your supervision.
  • Contribute to the development of financial tools (quotes, cost calculations, renewals, cost control).

The Senior Finance Director, Canada fulfills their human leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include: Direct or indirect supervision of approximately 8 employees, including, but not limited to, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluation; administering rewards and disciplinary measures; handling complaints and resolving issues; providing guidance and sharing the high-level strategic vision; and developing the budget and organizational structure.

Qualifications

Formation et expérience professionnelle

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or finance.
  • Hold a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA).
  • 10–12 years of accounting experience, including 3–5 years in a position at this level.
  • Bilingual in both spoken and written English (interacts daily with the U.S. corporate team).
