RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. Position summary
Department / Research Program: Child Health and Human Development Program – Reproductive/Stem cell biology and Protein engineering
We are looking for a temporary lab technician with strong expertise in molecular biology and tissue culture. This is a full-time, 6-month position to substitute a parental leave. The overall goal of our project is to generate a protein compound that modulate blood-testis barrier such that the efficiency of stem cell transplantation is improved. General Duties
- Construct target expression constructs ,
- Produce our target protein compounds,
- Apply the compounds to tissue culture,
- Immunological staining and image analysis,
- Optimize, troubleshoot and adapt methodologies,
- Strong communication skills and team-work ability.
Éducation / Expérience
Education: Diplome of College Studies (DEC)
Field of Study: Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell/Tissue Culture
Work Experience: One to two years

Required Skills
- Knowledge of French is required.
- A basic knowledge of oral English and an intermediate knowledge of written English are required, as the position requires regular contact, as well as processing specific information, with researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English. The position also requires complex writing or in-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.
- Expertise in molecular biology techniques, such as western blotting, molecular cloning, and immunoprecipitation,
- Expertise in cell culture and immunostaining and analyses,
- Excellent organizational skills,

- Excellent interpersonal skills,
- Enthusiasm and diligence.
