GUIDANCE COUNSELLOR- REPLACEMENT (100%)
Applications are invited for this full-time replacement position, available as of July 1st, 2026. The successful candidate will be a member of the Complementary Services team and will be responsible to the Director of Complementary Services.

We are currently a team of dedicated Guidance Counsellor. We meet regularly to hold case discussions, and plan initiatives to better support the school teams we collaborate with. We are members of a professional network and actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.

Affectation
ASSIGNMENT:
The successful candidate will work with school teams to evaluate students (individual or group meetings) with respect to their interests, aptitudes, abilities, personality, professional experiences, and personal needs. Our team focuses on supporting students experiencing difficulties with adapting to their school life and with making decisions about their future. All members of the complementary services team, work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop plans and to contribute to the development of a student’s individualized education plan (IEP).
Guidance Counsellors contribute by helping a student to carry out a self-analysis and to build an overall image of himself or herself, explore and clarify his or her situation and determine personal and professional goals. This may include:
- ♦ Screening and identification of students experiencing difficulties, using psychometric and other evaluation methods
- ♦ Helping them grasp the information received, understand, assume, and overcome his or her personal and social problems
- ♦ Working with students in their search to help them overcome the difficulties associated with their educational profile and their social and employment integration
- ♦ Providing information and advice to students and parents on the measures required carry out educational and career objectives.
- ♦ Reviewing a student’s individualized education plan by including his or her action plan in the plan
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Be a member of the Ordre des conseillers et conseillères d’orientation du Québec.
Autres exigences
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- ♦ Experience in a school setting as a member of a multidisciplinary team would be an asset;
- ♦ Must be fluent in English and French, both in oral and written.
Rémunération
ANNUAL BASIC SALARY:
In accordance with the Professionals’ Agreement: $56, 670 to $100, 410 per year according to experience and qualifications.
