Business Analyst – Investment Banking Operations
Location: Montreal, Quebec
Duration: 6 Months

Description du poste
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst with strong experience in Investment Banking Operations, specifically within Loan Operations and/or Securities Lending. This role will support large-scale capital markets and trading operations initiatives while collaborating closely with business stakeholders, operations teams, and technology groups to drive process improvements, regulatory compliance, and system enhancements.
The ideal candidate will possess strong domain expertise in trade lifecycle management, collateral management, and operational processes within capital markets environments.
Responsabilités clés
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to Loan Operations and Securities Lending processes
- Act as a liaison between Operations, Technology, Risk, and Front Office teams
- Support end-to-end trade lifecycle analysis including settlement, reconciliation, and collateral management
- Identify operational gaps and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls
- Assist with UAT planning, test case development, execution, and defect tracking for system enhancements
- Support regulatory reporting, audit documentation, and compliance initiatives
- Perform data analysis to support operational decision-making and issue resolution
- Participate in full project lifecycle activities from initiation through implementation
- Collaborate with global stakeholders across multiple regions and time zones
- Create and maintain business documentation including BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and process flow diagrams
Compétences et expérience requises
- 5–8 years of experience as a Business Analyst within Investment Banking or Capital Markets Operations
- Strong domain expertise in Loan Operations and/or Securities Lending
- Experience with trade lifecycle management, settlement, collateral management, and reconciliation processes
- Strong understanding of financial instruments including loans, repos, and equities lending
- Experience working within Agile and Scrum delivery environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience preparing BRD/FRD documentation, user stories, and workflow/process documentation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
Qualifications préférées
- Experience working in global banking environments, preferably with large financial institutions
- Exposure to regulatory frameworks impacting securities financing or lending markets
- Experience with tools such as:
- JIRA
- Confluence
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Reporting and analytics tools
- Prior experience supporting system migrations, platform upgrades, or transformation initiatives
- SQL or data analysis experience preferred
