Our Montreal based client is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Project Manager to join their team immediately and will run until the end of January 2027, with possibility of an extension. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 8+ years of project management experience and a proven track record in SAP S/4HANA upgrade projects (e.g., from 2020/2021 to 2023 or later). This will be a fully remote work setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all phases of the upgrade lifecycle: preparation, sandbox testing, development, QA, and production cutover.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations aligned with global program milestones.
- Act as the primary liaison between IT, business process owners, SAP consultants, BASIS teams, and external vendors.
- Establish and maintain RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies).
- Ensure compliance with SAP Activate methodology and internal governance frameworks.
- Coordinate integrated testing (validation, regression, performance).
- Manage change control processes and ensure business continuity during and post-upgrade.
- Provide regular status updates and executive reporting to senior leadership.
- Identify and mitigate project risks proactively.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (especially for industries like pharma or life sciences).
- Drive change management, training, and documentation readiness.
- Support user adoption and post-upgrade stabilization.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with complex integrations and custom code remediation.
- Understanding of SAP system architecture and BASIS activities.
- Ability to lead large-scale testing and cutover activities
- Experience in highly regulated environments (pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences preferred)
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent.
- SAP-specific certifications (optional but preferred).
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
