Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented below is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the role

We are looking for a creative and curious Junior Power Platform Developer to help us design and build innovative solutions that streamline workflows, automate processes, and enhance operational efficiency across the Surety business.

You will primarily develop with Power Automate and Power Apps, collaborating closely with business stakeholders and IT partners to translate business challenges and operational inefficiencies into user-friendly, scalable applications and automated workflows.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of business operations, process improvement, and technology strategy, with the ability to translate business challenges into technology-enabled solutions in collaboration with IT teams. Curiosity, and a passion for learning and utilizing technology tools are a must!

What you’ll do here:

  • Solution Design and Development:

  • Build Power Apps (canvas and model-driven where applicable) that are intuitive, reliable, and aligned to business needs.

  • Design, implement, and maintain Power Automate flows to orchestrate processes, integrate systems, and reduce manual effort.

    Contribute to the configuration and usage of data connectors, and related services to enable secure, scalable solutions.

    Prototype and iterate quickly, incorporating feedback from stakeholders to refine experiences and performance.

    Explore and evaluate emerging Power Platform features, AI capabilities, and integrations to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

    Evaluate and recommend technology enhancements or integrations that improve workflow efficiency and user experience.

    Lead proof-of-concept initiatives to test advanced capabilities (AI, process mining, RPA) and assess potential for rollout.

  • Collaboration and Enablement:

  • Build Power Apps (canvas and model-driven where applicable) that are intuitive, reliable, and aligned to business needs.

  • Partner with business teams to understand pain points and translate them into clear technical requirements and user stories.

    Work with corporate IT to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards (security, governance, and compliance).

    Support solution rollout, user training, and documentation to drive smooth adoption and measurable business outcomes.

  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Build Power Apps (canvas and model-driven where applicable) that are intuitive, reliable, and aligned to business needs.

  • Identify opportunities to optimize existing workflows and apps for speed, reliability, and user satisfaction.

    Stay current with Power Platform capabilities, best practices, and emerging features to bring fresh ideas to the team.

    Contribute to a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning.

What you bring to the table:

  • A diploma or degree in information systems, computer science, business, or a related field; relevant certifications are an asset or any combination of equivalent education and experience.

  • Hands-on experience building solutions with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps and Power Automate).

  • Exposure to Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, and common Power Platform connectors; familiarity with Dataverse is a plus.

  • Basic understanding of application lifecycle management (ALM) within Power Platform and environment governance concepts.

  • Ability to break down business problems and propose pragmatic, user-centered solutions.

  • Solid problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a passion for learning new tools and techniques.

  • Clear communication and collaboration skills to work with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

  • Foundational knowledge of automation, process mapping, and data handling.

  • Familiarity with application UI/UX standards and ability to apply them to create accessible, intuitive interfaces.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Power Platform, especially Power Apps and Power Automate.

  • Comfortable with Microsoft 365 apps and services as part of solution design and integration.

  • Bonus: Experience with Power BI, basic scripting (e.g., Power Fx), or integration concepts (APIs, web services).

  • French is a nice to have - For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English speaking colleagues across the country.

  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
